The sun was shining, the food was good, the company was delightful and the Volunteer of the Year was humble as usually in accepting this well deserved acknowledgement.  Joe, our Volunteer of the Year, accepted his well earned accolades and a Superman Balloon provided by Ron Sargent.  Joe continues to volunteer delivering Meals on Wheels to the homebound and preparing Friday meals at the Storehouse for its evening community dinner.
Our sincerest thanks to Joe for setting the example for the rest of us to follow.  As Pat Baglieri, SRIV's Meals on Wheels program manager puts it "There is no one more deserving of this honor than Joe." 
]]><![CDATA[New Charlestown Location]]>Tue, 27 Sep 2011 08:09:48 -0800http://www.southernrivol.org/3/post/2011/09/first-blog-update-test.htmlSouthern RI Volunteers will soon have a second office which will be located in the Charlestown Community Center.  Thanks to a HUD grant, the community center will be renovated and some of that space will be allocated to offices for our Director and staff.
