Grand Opening Of Charlestown Offices
April 2012

In celebration of National Volunteer Month, Southern Rhode Island Volunteers and the town of Charlestown teamed up to host the reopening of the Charlestown Senior Community Center in Ninigret Park and the offices of Southern Rhode Island Volunteers. Dignitaries on the guest list included: Senator Jack Reed, U.S. Rep. Jim Langevin and State Rep. Donna Walsh.

The two congressmen helped secure a HUD grant for  new offices for Southern Rhode Island Volunteers and the renovation of the Charlestown Community Senior Center. Both congressmen also thanked Southern Rhode Island Volunteers Executive Director Deb Tanner for her work.

"I know how hard Deb Tanner works to make sure this place works so well," Langevin said. "Volunteerism is one of the greatest acts we can all engage in."
