Graduate of Chariho High School and Gibbs College, Deb grew up in Charlestown, RI and after living in Washington State for a short time, returned home to RI and settled in West Kingston with her family. Deb's background took her from legal secretary for partners at two large Providence law firms early in her career, to Assistant Human Resources Director for Cranston General Hospital Osteopathic. After the birth of her daughter, Deb took a leave to raise her three children and returned to the workforce in the late 1990s as the Development Director for South County Community Action. After 3 years of successful event planning, appeals, and grant-writing at the CAP agency, Deb was approached in 2000 about the Executive Director position at Southern Rhode Island Volunteers. SRIV was then known as Seniors Helping Others. On October 1, 2000 Deb began her tenure with SHO as its third Executive Director and fifth Director overall. In the last decade, Deb has led SRIV through many changes, challenges and opportunities and looks forward to the continued work of service, growth, and succession planning that will carry SRIV well into the future.
