South County Art Association

The South County Art Association (SCAA) has around 300 members who run exhibits out of the Helme House in Kingston RI, which is open to the public. SCAA is open five days a week to the public and offers opportunities for the public to learn through classes and lectures, inclduing drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and clay. Their goal is to expose and educate people to the arts.

The mission of the Association is to promote greater participation in the arts in Rhode Island by encouraging the production, visibility, and appreciation of artwork through quality education, juried and organized exhibitions, and artistic fellowship.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Strong need for bulk mail help for upcoming summer exhibits and events
  • Office help, various tasks including data entry, marketing and mailings 
  • Gallery sitting: Talk guests around gallery, make sure they don't touch things, take them to the gift shop
